MENTORING

For whom?

For international and French students.

Why?

The goal of mentoring is to help new International students integrate themselves into life in grenoble. It's also a way for other students to help IntEGre and get involved by being mentors for the arriving students. Mentors, mentees... Take a look below for more details about how this works!

Mentees

Are you planning to come to Grenoble? Feeling a bit anxious about moving to a new country, or eager to quickly get to know the city? Would you like to have a helping hand from a student who knows the city and the campus? Then you can be a Mentee in our Mentoring programme!

How does this work ?

Your Mentor will try to answer any questions you might have about the town, the campus, life in France. They can also help with some of the administrative tasks you'll be faced with, as well as showing you around some cool places in or around town! Through the Mentoring programme, you'll be able to meet some new people, and maybe even make some new friends along the way!

Mentors

Arriving to a new place for one's studies can be pretty stressful and disorienting. Would you like to help a new student feel at home in Grenoble?

In that case, you should like our Mentoring programme!

By becoming a Mentor, you'll get the chance to help a new student integrate into their new life, in a practical way!

What will I do?

Settling down in a new place takes time, and is made a lot easier by having someone there to help, so that's what you'll do! The main aspects you'll be helping with could be to answer the student's questions about Grenoble, help with administrative tasks (University, housing, bank...), and show them around town or campus. This will already be a huge help for them, but if you feel like doing more, you're free to do so! Why not invite them to hang out with you and your friends? Or take them to some of the cool places to eat at in the city? Or go on a hike together? The possibilities are endless, and you'll be sure to give them some memorable experiences of their arrival and stay in Grenoble!

TANDEM

The Tandem program allows you to sign up to be matched with a student who can help you learn the language you're interested in, and who wants to learn a language that you speak! The idea is that you'll arrange meetings with eachother to practice the languages each of you wants to learn, and learn about each other's culture along the way!

So whether you want to learn some new vocabulary, funny expressions, or simply practise languages, feel free to sign up!

Are you interested in languages?

The "Gratuiterie"

Need some supplies to furnish your student room? IntEGre can help!

When students leave Grenoble, some of them leave things for next year's students. IntEGre collects and stores these items, and redistributes them for free at the start of each semster. Typically, that includes mostly kitchen items,  some clothes, and sometimes other appliances, bedding, games, books...

The Gratuiterie is a win-win! If you have things that you don't need anymore, you can leave them to us, knowing that they will be useful, and be recycled and reused into a new life. Its a small step towards a more circular economy, and allows you to support other people who are in need.

The items are made available during specific "Gratuiterie" events, usually held at the EVE building: Espace Vie Etudiante (EVE - 701 Avenue Centrale 38400 Saint-Martin-D’Hères). Follow us on our social media pages to make sure you know when the next gratuiterie is, and contact us if you have some items to give!

Meet'N'Go

What is Meet'N'Go?  The name is quite indicative, but lets detail it a bit more...

   What is it?

The goal is to help french students who want to go on an international exchange meet a student who has already been on an exchange, or who is from the country the french student is interested in. Then, both of them can talk about what going on an exchange is like and answer all their questions!

   How does it work?

  • Are you an international student? Or a french student who has already been on an exchange? Your mission, if you accept it, is to help a student who wants to go on an axchange! Help a fellow student out with tips and by sharing your experience!

  • Are you planning to go on an exchange? Do you have some questions or uncertainties about it? Well, heres is your chance to get in touch with someone who can help you understand and prepare!

Contact us if you are interested in the Meet'n'Go!
